APPLICATIONS FOR 2025 - SPORTS ACADEMY OPEN
SPORTS
Our Sports Academy has been designed to develop the skills and mindsets of our young athletes. This holistic approach ensures that our athletes are physically fit and mentally prepared to compete at the highest levels.
Training Programmes
Our strength and conditioning programmes are customised by certified teachers in this field to meet each athlete’s unique needs. These programmes include advanced exercises to build power, agility, and endurance.
Recovery and Injury Prevention
We emphasise the importance of recovery and injury prevention as essential parts of our training regimen. Our specialised programmes include physical therapy, nutrition guidance, and ensuring athletes get adequate rest. These measures aim to minimise injury risks and promote overall health.
Food and Nutrition
Proper nutrition is a cornerstone of our Sports Academy. We educate our athletes on the importance of a balanced diet to fuel their performance and recovery. Our nutrition programmes teach students about the right carbohydrates, proteins, and fats to support their training. We also guide hydration and healthy eating habits, helping our athletes make informed food choices on and off the field.
ACADEMIC
Academic Academy provides an opportunity for extra academic extension across the curriculum. While all our classes extend students beyond their starting point, this academy is designed to provide even greater challenges.
There will be opportunities for specialist teachers, group challenges, entering academic competitions, goal setting, future career exploration, motivational speakers, and guidance in managing academic pressure.
Over the years, several different modules have been offered by adults with particular strengths and passions in that area. Such as a Tournament of the Minds, Philosophy, STEAM & Robotics, EPro 8 and Food and Culinary skills.
MATHS
Extension Mathematics at our school allows advanced learners to deepen their understanding of mathematical concepts beyond the standard curriculum.
This programme challenges students with complex problems, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Through engaging activities, collaborative projects, and competitions, students explore higher-level principles while cultivating a passion for mathematical challenges.
With teacher support, we guide students, encouraging a love for mathematics and preparing them for future academic pursuits. Whether aiming for University courses or STEM careers, Extension Mathematics equips students with the knowledge and confidence to excel in their mathematical journey.
LEADERSHIP
At Feilding Intermediate, the Year 8 Leadership Group is a dedicated program designed to nurture and develop future leaders. Students are selected at the end of Year 7 after being nominated by their teachers based on their potential and demonstrated leadership qualities. A few spaces are also available for students who begin at Feilding Intermediate as Year 8 students.
The Year 8 Leadership Group at Feilding Intermediate offers a unique and privileged opportunity for young leaders. Throughout the school year, students engage in a variety of activities that help build their skills and confidence. These activities include meeting with guest speakers who share their insights on leadership, attending formal meetings where they learn about governance and decision-making, and organizing and supporting various school events.
A significant highlight for many in the Year 8 Leadership Group is the opportunity to extend their care and support to Year 6 students as they transition to Feilding Intermediate.
