MEET THE TEACHER:
All students are invited to come to school on THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 5th, to meet their new teacher.
Meet the teacher will run from 9 am - MIDDAY. Please feel free to call in anytime during the morning to do this. Once you have been greeted at the office, you will be escorted to your new class, where you can meet the teacher, drop off stationery, and ask any questions.

School donation- NO school donations for 2026
Technology fee - $50 per student
Sports fee- will be charged as per individual sport
The technology fee covers the cost of the take-home materials, such as hard materials, food, and fabric technology.
Fees can be paid in cash or EFTPOS at the school office. We encourage families to set up weekly or fortnightly automatic payments to pay accounts, making it easier to spread the costs out. Alternatively, you can pay via internet banking to the school bank account (bank details below).
All extra-curricular activities must be paid for before the start of the activity. School camps must be paid according to the camp letters sent out before each camp.

ABSENTEEISM AND LATENESS
Please contact the school office via phone or email at absent@fis.school.nz if your child will be absent or late. If you have not made contact, we will send a text message or email. If there is no contact from home, your child will be recorded as truant. If your child is away for more than three days, please provide a medical certificate. If your child is late, they must report to the office and sign in using the tablet at the front desk.
COMMUNICATION
School event information and communication will be on the school's Facebook page. Please check this regularly for updates. Please keep your details and email address current by notifying our school office of any changes. We are strongly committed to working in partnership with whānau, so please do not hesitate to contact us.

SECURITY CAMERAS
We have security cameras on-site. The school's camera surveillance system is installed to deter and identify criminal activity on our school grounds and to address undesirable behaviours. The system operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It does not have a voice recording capability. The school complies with the Privacy Act 2020 in the use and management of the system, and makes every effort to prevent it from affecting the privacy of the school community in its daily life.

UNIFORM EXPECTATIONS.
For safety reasons, we request that jewellery of cultural significance be worn under the school shirts. Long hair must be tied up. Children can wear a single pair of plain, small studs or small circular sleepers in the lower earlobe. No other piercings are permitted - including but not limited to upper ear, nose, tongue and belly piercings.
At Feilding Intermediate, students are expected to adhere to the following additional uniform expectations:
Make-up is not permitted at school.
Nails and lashes are to be natural and trimmed. Artificial nails or lashes of any kind are not allowed.
Long hair must be tied up for school.
Covered shoes are required for technology.
We have nail polish and make-up remover in the office for students who do not meet our uniform expectations.
We are an optional BYOD school, meaning students may bring devices from home to use in the classroom. All children will be issued a school email account. It is their responsibility to keep their password secure. All computer use during school hours and/or with school accounts must comply with our ICT use policies and agreements.
DEVICE OPTIONS, INSURANCES & AFTER HOURS USE
Provide your own:
4 GB minimum is preferable if purchasing new.

There are a small number of school devices available for students to use.
